课程 | Master of Occupational Therapy

The MOT curriculum is a plan for learning that will prepare students as generalists in OT practice who are well grounded in the understanding of therapeutic occupation as it applies to diverse 人口s and communities. The program supports student application of a humanistic perspective to practice by interspersing within the curriculum opportunities for self-reflection and the development of self-awareness and recognition of the intrinsic and personal value of occupation. The program promotes a safe and supportive learning 环境 through which students develop and then share an appreciation of the parameters of the foundational and theoretical sciences with an understanding that the human condition is also an orchestration of personhood, culture and an innate need to engage in occupation. The program fosters opportunities for "just right" challenges combining didactic instruction with experiential learning, and respects differences in student learning styles and thus uses methods that favor individuality in learning and link pedagogy to real-world contexts such as hands-on, 自主, problem-based and experiential learning opportunities.

The curriculum offers students a lens through which they progressively analyze components of life participation including person, 人口, 环境, socio-cultural and occupation interactions. This lays the foundation through which the nature of occupational performance can be interpreted and can also evolve. The program insists on student development of ethical and professional behaviors expected of practitioners according to standards, values and attitudes of the occupational therapy profession. 为此目的, the Master of Occupational Therapy Program delivers a curriculum that instills lifelong learning and best practice strategies through the endorsement of an evidence-based and critical analysis of OT practice and practice settings with respect for interprofessional and collaborative care and communication.
